I love Haikyu!! dearly and have read the original work over and over many times. When I learned I could play the role of Tobio Kageyama, I was truly overjoyed. I performed in the HYPER PROJECTION stage play Haikyu!! for three and a half years, through 256 performances. Now that this work returns to the stage in revival form, with everyone working hard together again from the very beginning, I could not be happier. Ten years have passed since the first performance of the HYPER PROJECTION stage play Haikyu!!. A great deal has happened along the way. I am sure it was not only joy and fun — there were hard moments as well. But it is precisely because we kept "connecting" and passing things on that today's opportunity exists. I believe every single member of the company feels the same. This time, I believe, is the first step that everyone has taken together — toward the future and toward the world. I hope you will all support them.

Haikyu!! is hugely popular across Asia right now. Last summer, we held a large-scale offline event in Shanghai, China, attended by ten thousand people. Chinese fans kept telling us how much they hoped to see the HYPER PROJECTION stage play Haikyu!! in China. It is a truly wonderful stage production, and I very much wanted more people to be able to see it. That is exactly why we decided to launch this project once again and stage a China tour. These performances will be the largest overseas production in the history of Weekly Shonen JUMP. We hope everyone will look forward to and enjoy this tour!

Volleyball is a team sport in which the ball is "connected" into attack. That is why, in this tour's key visual, the single ball being passed among everyone symbolizes all of us moving toward the same goal, in the same direction. The ball-shaped design of the HYPER PROJECTION stage play Haikyu!! in the background of course comes from the shape of a volleyball, and it also embodies our resolve to step out toward the world. Standing on this stage today, I feel deeply that having something you love — and being among so many people who can declare their passion without hesitation — is truly a wonderful blessing. I hope to bring this happiness to China and share this joy with friends there.
Story
Shoyo Hinata, a boy who idolizes the "Little Giant" and is deeply captivated by volleyball, suffers a crushing defeat in the last and only official match of his middle school years against Tobio Kageyama, the genius player known as the "King of the Court." Vowing revenge, Hinata enters Karasuno High School and joins the volleyball club full of fighting spirit — only to find that waiting for him there is none other than the rival he detests, Kageyama!? As day after day of training goes by, the relationship between Hinata and Kageyama slowly begins to change, and the members of the Karasuno High volleyball club keep growing. Each of them carries a burning passion and dedication for volleyball, striving toward ever higher goals. Volleyball is a sport in which the ball must never touch the ground, and must never be held — a team sport in which three touches are used to "connect" the ball into attack. When they work as one and trust one another — what view awaits them at the end of that connection!?
About Haikyu!!
Haikyu!! is a super-popular volleyball manga created by Haruichi Furudate and serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen JUMP, officially concluded in July 2020. Set against high school volleyball, it tells a red-hot youth story of the protagonists growing as they chase their dreams, and has been widely acclaimed since its debut. The complete series spans 45 volumes, with over 70 million copies in cumulative circulation. The anime has run through four seasons, and the film Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle, released in February 2024, became a global sensation with impressive box-office results. Even after the original work concluded, its popularity has not faded — it continues to enjoy enthusiastic support from fans.
About the HYPER PROJECTION Stage Play Haikyu!!
The HYPER PROJECTION stage play Haikyu!! is a series of stage productions adapted from the super-popular manga Haikyu!!, created by Haruichi Furudate and serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen JUMP (concluded July 2020). Since its premiere in November 2015, the series has stayed true to its guiding concept — "like watching a real volleyball match" — brilliantly bringing each of Karasuno High's fierce battles to the stage and giving audiences an immersive experience as if they had stepped into the tension and fire of the original work's match venues. Guided by this spirit, the stage play series has produced 11 works to date, boldly innovating in performance form and stage expression, continuously sparking passionate responses and waves of youthful enthusiasm.
